Budgets

Create project budgets in QUANTICAL.ERP - name, amount, currency and period per budget as the basis for budget planning, resource overview and controlling.

A budget is the money frame of a project for a period, such as a phase or a calendar year. Budget planning spreads the employees' person-days over it, and controlling measures how much of it is consumed. You maintain the budgets in the project's Budgets tab.

Add a budget

Click Add Budget. A new row appears in the table, preset with the project start as Valid From. Enter the Name, the Amount and the end of the period. The Currency is euro unless chosen otherwise.

Save changes

Only Save Changes creates the budget. If the period lies outside the project duration, QUANTICAL.ERP asks first and saves anyway if you want.

Reading the table

Above the table stands the sum of all budgets as Total. A budget whose period runs today carries the Active badge. The active budgets filter shows only those, the No allocation filter the budgets on which no employee with a rate is planned yet in budget planning. The bin deletes a budget together with its plans.

Where the budget is used

  • In budget planning you choose the budget as Budget ID and see budget total, planned and unplanned
  • The resource overview shows budget total and budget unplanned per project
  • Controlling sets consumption against the total budget in the Budget tab of the project performance

Several budgets per project pay off for phases or yearly slices. Each budget has its own period, and budget planning spreads the person-days per budget separately.
