API keys

Create API keys in QUANTICAL.ERP for automations such as n8n - permissions per endpoint, expiry and usage limit, authentication via x-api-key and the endpoints of the automation API.

With an API key external tools read data from QUANTICAL.ERP without anyone signing in: a weekly report in n8n, an analysis in Excel, a reconciliation with payroll. You manage the keys under Administration

API Keys.

Create a key

Create API Key opens the dialog. The Name later tells what the key is for, the Prefix makes it recognisable in logs. Expires In limits the lifetime from 30 days to one year, or never. Maximum Uses deactivates the key after a fixed number of calls. Under Endpoint Permissions you choose which data the key may read, All endpoints or individual ones.

Copy the key

After creation QUANTICAL.ERP shows the key exactly once. Copy it into your tool now, afterwards only the Key Preview remains visible. If it gets lost, create a new one and delete the old one.

Using the key

Every request carries the key in the x-api-key header. The built-in documentation describes the endpoints with parameters, example calls and responses and can be copied as Markdown, for example to hand it to a developer or an AI assistant.

/api/automation/weekly-booking-reportBooked and missing hours of all active employees per calendar week
/api/automation/time-entriesTime entries, filterable by project, employee, client and period

A key reads with the rights of an owner. Issue a separate key per tool with only the permissions needed and delete it as soon as the tool no longer needs it.
